AT A GLANCE
  • Confirm documents with each responsible provider and authority.
  • Plan accommodation and travel around appointments that can change.
  • Arrange local support, insurance checks and medical-record handover before the visit.

Build three document folders

Clinical: keep dated test results, prior treatment summaries, relevant genetic reports, medication information and any embryo-storage records. Ask the receiving clinician which results are usable and which need updating.

Identity and travel: keep your passport, entry documents, appointment address and confirmation. Relationship or civil-status documents may be requested for a particular arrangement; confirm the purpose and requirement rather than assume one checklist applies to everyone.

Agreements and payments: retain the treatment proposal, quote, contracting-party details, consent, cancellation terms and receipts. Keep copies accessible offline. Ask which documents need professional translation, certification or other authentication before commissioning the work.

Check entry and registration separately

The right to enter, the allowed length of stay and any local registration obligation are separate questions. They can depend on nationality, travel document, residence and the purpose of the visit. Consult the Kyrgyz Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the official e-visa service where relevant and the consulate responsible for your situation.

A clinic invitation or booking confirmation is supporting material, not a guarantee of entry. Do not assume a visa exemption removes every registration requirement, or that a hotel handles obligations connected with an extended stay.

Obtain the current requirements close to booking and check again before departure. Record the official source and any written advice relevant to your itinerary. This page does not provide a nationality-by-nationality visa entitlement table.

Plan a visit that can change

Ask the clinic for a visit schedule with appointments, location and the clinical decision that confirms each next step. Distinguish monitoring, collection, recovery, laboratory updates and transfer. Testing or a freeze-first plan may mean a later transfer visit.

Choose accommodation with practical access to the treatment facility. Confirm whether consultation, retrieval and transfer occur at the same address. Keep a local address and clinical contact available in the language you will need for transport or urgent assistance.

Use flexible bookings where feasible. Before paying for a long stay, ask how schedule changes affect the quote and what support is available if you need to remain longer.

Arrange language, money and practical support

Identify who interprets consultations and consent documents, including procedures and out-of-hours discussions. A coordinator handling airport transfers may not be qualified or available to interpret medical consent.

Confirm the accepted payment methods, quote currency, due dates, bank charges and payee. Be clear whether an overseas coordinator and local medical provider invoice separately. Keep travel and accommodation costs apart from medical charges in your budget.

If you travel with prescribed medication, ask your prescriber, airline and relevant border authorities about documentation, carriage and storage. Do not infer import permission from a clinic’s willingness to prescribe a medicine.

Prepare for care at home

Check insurance terms directly, including elective fertility treatment, complications, cancellation and extension of stay. Ask the treating team when travel is appropriate and what would change that advice.

Before leaving Bishkek, obtain the treatment and laboratory records, written instructions and follow-up schedule. Identify the clinician near home who will receive the handover and how to get urgent help if symptoms develop.

Keep the storage agreement and laboratory contact if material remains in Kyrgyzstan. Treatment may finish before the administrative and storage responsibilities end. See the frozen-transfer and storage guide.
