A useful quotation belongs to a specific treatment and seller. This guide explains how to read it; institution-specific fees and historical versions remain inside the relevant clinic channel.
What the headline may leave out
Ask for a separate line for every relevant stage. Mark it “included”, “extra” or “not applicable”; do not assume an unmentioned service is covered.
- Assessment: consultation, tests, record review and translations.
- Medication and monitoring: which medicines, doses and appointments are covered?
- Collection and laboratory: procedure, anaesthesia, IVF or ICSI and embryo culture.
- Testing, if proposed: biopsy, laboratory testing, counselling and handling fees.
- Transfer and storage: fresh or frozen transfer, freezing, storage period and renewal.
- Other arrangements: donor-related services, coordination and transport where applicable.
Surrogacy packages cover a different set of medical, legal and coordination services and should not be compared with an ordinary IVF programme price.
Build your own budget
Use only figures confirmed in your own quote. This calculator adds the amounts you enter; it does not estimate clinical costs, exchange rates or the likelihood of repeat treatment.
A subtotal is not the whole plan
If your own confirmed quote contains two separate, necessary and non-overlapping charges, adding them gives the subtotal for those items only. It does not establish the cost of medication, extra treatment, travel or later care that the quote has not included.
Keep each amount in its original currency until you have an explicit conversion basis. Do not add the source amount and its illustrative foreign-currency equivalent as if they were two obligations.
Questions before payment
Ask who receives each payment, when it falls due and what happens if the clinical plan changes. Obtain cancellation, refund, storage and repeat-treatment terms in writing.
A plan that includes a second transfer, for example, may still exclude medication, monitoring or storage. Ask what “included”, “unlimited” or “guaranteed” means in the actual contract rather than assuming a medical outcome.
Use the consultation checklist to record the questions you have discussed.
Use this guide to prepare a discussion with your treating team and, where needed, independent legal advisers. Individual eligibility, treatment and travel plans need confirmation for your circumstances.
